Scam is a crime that involves tweaking something or tricking someone into believing something that is not true, usually involving stealing money. Scam operations often try to add a patina of legitimacy to their claims by mentioning real financial institutions, government departments or well-known companies.
Scammers are adept at psychological profiling, and use any weakness they find to their advantage. Con artists and scammers will exploit someone’s weakness for their own personal gain. Many scammers are very cunning, so being smart is not enough to protect yourself.
